LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
KNOWLEDGE. CONFIDENCE. ENERGY. STRENGTH. EMPOWERMENT. GROWTH.
Being an effective leader isn’t something that comes naturally — It’s a learned skill. While developing your leadership skills, you can feel awkward, uncomfortable, and like you’re “winging it.” As Black Male Educators, we have very few learning spaces where we can be open, make mistakes without judgment, and learn from them to grow. That’s why we, here at BMEsTalk have designed several leadership development and professional learning opportunities to allow you to connect, grow, and lead.

BMEsTalk LEADERSHIP LAB
Returning Spring 2023
Our Leadership Lab is 100% virtual, meaning you can invest in your professional development from the comfort of your own home. There are a series of four two-hour workshops that will arm you with leadership weapons to conquer your duties.
The Leadership Lab is all about being acknowledged. When you’re recognized and your voice is heard, your energy flows, and motivation is sky high. We understand the pain that Black Male Educators (BMEs) feel daily when they’re spoken AT, not WITH. These labs are designed to be personal learning spaces where you’ll “get” more than you’ll “sit.”
When you join our Leadership Lab, you’ll learn how to:
- Utilize personal storytelling to lead with greater authenticity at work.
- Increase student engagement through the use culturally responsive and sustaining teaching practices
- Activate self care and personal growth in a Black Male Educator centered affinity group
