From The Senior Partner – July 2021

I am excited to share that my wife, Natasha, and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary.  She marked this special occasion with a 10 day social media campaign, sharing the story of our first meeting and first ten years of marriage.  It was so exciting to reminisce over old pictures and do my best to recall the stories and experiences. My wife swears I was clueless about her interest in me.  Oh well, it worked out.

Thank you for tapping into this piece. July went by fast.  Wedding anniversary celebrations. Black male educator focus groups with The Center for Black Educator Development. And exploration meetings with a host of school district leaders and organizations.  Tap in here to listen to me unpack it all in addition to sharing what’s on the horizon.  One thing I will share here is that it was such a pleasure joining Jason Allen on his Facebook show EdLanta.  Jason is an writer, educator, and is currently running for the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education.  He invited me on to talk about supporting Black Male Educators.  One interesting question he asked was “How can teachers support their Black male teachers colleagues in the building?” I have been asked many questions about supporting Black male teachers, but never that one. One of the answers I shared was that those teachers need to simply “do what they have been hired to do, teach and teach well.” I share more in this month’s video,
